True - they are both US based companies...

And that is another issue if You are planning to use either service, when Your company is based in another country... legal issues all the way...

But the better point of LotusLive is that You can whenever You choose to, and at least in theory, always install a Domino server and move all the data to Your own server. Since they are both Lotus databses, there shouldn't be too much hazzle to move the data. I'm not aware if Google Docs has any "export" function to move the whole installation to another location...
